Faculty Bio for Todd Dicken: Director, Designer, Senior Lecturer (Scenic Design, Lighting Design, Script Analysis, Stagecraft, Production Design, Scenic Painting, Puppetry, Props & Crafts, Acting 3, Directing, Stage Combat, History of Motion Pictures, Professional Prep.) Todd has a lengthy history with YSU as a Student, Staff Member, Limited-Service Faculty, Adjunct Faculty, Lecturer, and now Senior Lecturer, that spans over 30 years. “GO PENGUINS!” He served as Production Manager for the YSU Department of Theater and Dance for 16 years. He received his B.A. in Communication with a Theater emphasis from YSU (1988) and his M.F.A. in Scenic Design from Kent State University (1998). Todd has been a guest faculty member at YSU, Emory and Henry College, and Kent State University, where he has taught courses in design, props, painting, puppetry, drafting, film, introduction to college teaching, and professional aspects. His professional credits include Scenic Designer, Properties Designer, Properties Master, Technical Director, Scenic Artist, Director, Radio Show Director, Foley Artist, Puppetry Designer and Production Manager. In 2004, he served as Lighting Designer, and worked with various offices of the White House (including Secret Service) to assist in the planning, coordination, and production of President George W. Bush’s Town Hall Visit to YSU’s Spotlight Arena Theater. Todd is a member of Puppeteers of America, and the Union of International Marionette Artists. He’s the coordinator of YSU’s Minor in Puppetry.
